Diamonds of Neptune are a five-piece Melbourne band with a unique take on the indie-dream rock genre. They take you on a journey in a dream-like state, blending sounds of psychedelic-pop with heavy synth and heavenly guitar tones.
Comprising of Matt Whitbourne (vocals), Adriaan Troise (guitar), Annthoni Motti (piano/synth), Alex Newton (bass) and Scott Barton (drums). The band was established in 2012, and in early 2015 we saw the release of their self-titled debut EP to a sold out crowd. Produced by Diamonds of Neptune and Christopher Wiseman, the EP is the follow up to the previously released singles, ‘Spiderweb’ and ‘Fruit Tingles’ (2013).
2015 was big, with spins on Triple M’s Homegrown segment and Triple J unearthed, plus supporting for Northeast Party House, The Bennies, Stonefield, The Belligerants and many more plus a residency at the Evelyn Hotel. Their summer anthem, ‘Pipedreams’, was released at Panacea Festival in November. Followed by another single ‘Cyclical Nightmare’ launched in Jan 2016 to a full house at The Workers Club.
After a brief break from performance, Diamonds of Neptune have reemerged from the studio eager and energised, with their debut self titled album bringing tales of life, growth, and re-birth. So far they have played to sold-out residencies across Melbourne this year.
Their highly anticipated launch and accompanying tour will begin end of 2019.
