SARAH STORER
It was hard for me to pick just one of Sara Storer’s songs. Lovegrass just slid in at the top there. I love that she owns the Aussie accent, not dissimilar to Missy Higgins.

SIA FURLER
For me, Sia has always been such a solid songwriter. Her melodies are simple, yet interesting and catchy at the same time. There’s enough depth in them to be endlessly interesting, but simple enough for people to sing in their cars. It’s such a skill.

VANESSA AMOROSI
Once again, I love the 90’s. Vanessa Amorosi may not be up there for most people, but it’s hard for me not to feel happy when I’m listening to her songs.

MISSY HIGGINS
Missy Higgins is an interesting one for me! I think she was the first artist who made me think, “oh damn, maybe I can do this too?”. Although the production value in Scar is more underwhelming than what we’ve come to hear from Missy, it’s such a great song that’s stood the test of time.

TINA ARENA
Tina Arena hasn’t necessarily been a big influence on me personally, but I’ve included her because she is hugely influential in Australian music and an incredible musician. Hard not to include Tina in this list!
